Golovkin Prize award ceremony: third place for the polyptych 'Eternal Return' (16.12.2022)
The prize for fine art and design named after Konstantin Pavlovich Golovkin — a Samara artist and patron of the arts — was established in 2021 by the Samara regional branch of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Togliatti branch of the Union of Designers of Russia and the non-profit organization "Culture of Life", with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Samara Region. The prize sums up the creative results of the year in four nominations: traditional fine art, contemporary art, design, and curatorship. Entries span a wide range of media — painting, graphic art, digital art, video art, photography, printmaking, decorative art; in each nomination the submitted works go through a shortlist selection.
Several hundred works by artists, photographers and designers of the Samara region contended for the 2022 prize. The award ceremony took place on December 16 at the New Space Gallery in Samara, which was hosting the regional exhibition project 'Between Light and Darkness', presenting a significant part of the competition entries.
Yulia Latysheva became a laureate of the prize: third place in the "Contemporary Art" nomination for the polyptych 'Eternal Return', presented at that exhibition. In this nomination painting was judged on equal terms with other media: the jury awarded the first two places to an installation-performance and a digital art work.
